Grace

1. What Kind of People Can Receive Grace?

In Exodus 3:2 and the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

and Daniel 3:25,He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

We see that the bush and people could not be consumed by fire. Why? Because the angel of the Lord and Jesus were present.

In Exodus 3, we see God calling Moses to use him to rescue the people of Israel. But Moses was reluctant about being used as he felt he didn’t know how to speak.

2. He Put Us In The Church So We Must Forsake Our Thoughts

In Exodus 3:5, and he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

God tells Moses to remove his shoes for that was a holy ground. The shoes represent our thoughts and the holy ground represents the church. God saved us and put us in the church. In the church we have to forsake our thoughts. When Moses was able to throw away his thoughts, God could easily use him to save the Israelites from Egypt.

In 2 Kings 24:14 and he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

The rich and those with power were captured into captivity whereas the poor were left behind to be vinedressers and husbandmen (2Kings 25:12 But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen).

The poor are the ones who can remain or sit next to Jesus. God has chosen the foolish and despised things of this world (1 Corinthians 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are).

3. God’s Assurance

In Isaiah 41:10, Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

God gives us an assurance that He will surely strengthen us and absolutely help us and that we should not fear. Many a times we don’t take this promise accurately but vaguely. Just like we accept

Hebrews 10:17 and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Accurately God doesn’t remember our sins no more, so are we to believe in this promise that God will surely strengthen us and absolutely help us.

Whether our thoughts are good or not, we should take off our shoes (thoughts) like Moses and believe what God is telling us. God repeats again inIsaiah 41:13-14 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

That He will help us. He emphasizes that ‘I will help you.’ This means that truly He will help us. He has said that He is with you, therefore no matter what voice you listen to remember that God is with you. In our eyes everything seems impossible but in the eyes of God nothing seems impossible. Let’s always remember that God is with me.
