Pharmacy and Poison Board on Monday issued a warning against the distribution, supply, sale or use of Yoni pearls, also known as vaginal detox pearls, herbal tampons or cleansing pearls, believed to have cleansing attributes.
In a statement shared on social media, the Pharmacy and Poison Board stated that Yoni pearls contain potential health risks as the board cannot guarantee their quality, safety and efficiency since they are not registered or authorized by the board as required under the Pharmacy and Poison Act (cap 244)
On the other hand, the creators of the products claim these pearls can detox the uterus, cleanse the vagina, curb vaginal inflammation, promote a healthier reproductive system, and help with endometriosis, irregular periods, fibroids and blocked tubes.
