Fiery activist Boniface Mwangi has responded to Governor Anne Waiguru’s threat to sue rapper King Kaka also known as Kennedy Ombima for defamation in his latest track Wajinga Nyinyi.

Fiery activist Boniface Mwangi has responded to Governor Anne Waiguru’s threat to sue rapper King Kaka also known as Kennedy Ombima for defamation in his latest track Wajinga Nyinyi.

Under the hashtag #IstandWithKingKaka, Mwangi has called on the public to support the artiste for speaking truth on impunity and corruption.

Mwangi made the call on Twitter on Monday evening shortly after the governor, through Kiragu Wathuta and Company Advocates, demanded that King Kaka pulls down Wajinga Nyinyi.

In her demand letter Waiguru has also issued a 48-hour ultimatum to King Kaka to offer a full unconditional admission of liability in writing.

According to the governor, the artiste made reference to her in the song in a highly defamatory way, which depicts her as extremely corrupt and has been engaged in the theft of public funds at NYS, which she states is not true.

Mwangi urged Kenyans in a tweet stating that let’s all tweet the #IstandWithKingKaka and tag Waiguru so that she knows we shall not let her intimidate King Kaka.

The song, whose title translates to "You fools", went viral upon its release on Saturday, earning the musician praise and criticism in equal measure.

It highlights the regular Kenya’s challenges including poor leadership, corruption, political exploitation, unemployment, a poor education system and the state of affairs since the general election in 2017.

Among those who supported the song were 2013 presidential aspirant Abduba Diba, Kenya Film and Classification Board Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua and constitutional lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi.
