Toyota Tsusho To Export Kenya Made Fertilizer

Japanese firm toyota tsusho is preying on the regional market with its Kenya made fertiliser as it looks forward to expand its influence in agricultural activities by using its car sales network.

The conglomerate said it will promote the Baraka brand of fertilizer that is blended at its plant in Eldoret via the use of its established car sales network.

Toyota Tsusho said in its report that it will utilize its automobile sales network that has been sophisticated over many years, with possibilities for sales and exports to the bordering countries and to contribute to the stable supply of food and boost economic development.

Toyota Tsusho started its blending activities in 2016 becoming the second firm to join the business after Mea Limited to set a fertilizer producing facility in Kenya.

The firm predicts its annual fertilizer demand to increase from 600,000 tonnes to 1.5 million tonnes so as to meet the demand by farmers.

The conception of the plant came after the government and Toyota signed a memorandum of understanding to put up two fertilizer factories.
