Faithfuls of ACK St. Philips Korisai parish at Malabaarea in Teso-North sub county, Busia County, are in shock after thieves broke into the church, stealing property worth Sh150,000.
Rev. Gabriel Muzungu said the thugs broke the window through which they accessed the vicarage where the electronics, and food items which were part of Sunday harvest offertory were pilfered.
The parish Curate Rev. Videlis Ekaiti said that it was disheartening that now places of worship are the main target as the thugs no longer have respect for God.
She also made a request to traders dealing in second-hand electronics in the neighboring areas to report to the police in case they receive speakers, microphones, piano or any of the things the church lost.
The incident is the second attempt at the church, with the thugs now targeting musical instruments in the places of worship and school laptops made for digital literacy programs in schools.
The parish chairperson Wilson Okama added that cases of insecurity are rampant in entire Teso North sub county the main target being electronics and school tablets
