President William Ruto Speaks On the Uasin Gishu Schorlaships Scandal.

After parents petitioned to  the Senate and President Ruto for help recovering their payments to the county government. The president finally broke his silence about the scandal at a rally on Wednesday 16th August .

He warned that  those who stole millions of shillings to fund students in Uasin Gishu County will be dealt with and he will spare no effort to seek justice and assured residents, especially parents, that the anti-corruption agency would recover the money they donated to the county.

“I will not allow anyone to steal from our children. The money will be returned to the parents,” Ruto assured the parents who were cheering him up.

He also stated that what the county officials have done was shameful and dangerous thing for society because the suspect is destroying the lives of young people.

“It’s embarrassing for anyone to steal money meant for the education of young people in Uasin Gishu,” Ruto stated, adding that, “those involved should carry their own cross.”The court has ordered the arrest of Mandago and three other former senior officials.

Former governor, Senator Jackson Mandago  and other three county officials have been accused of mismanaging more than Ksh1 billion raised by Finnish and Canadian parents for their children’s education.
