NPS Officers urged to sustain war against banditry

Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome has urged National Police Service Officers in Turkana to sustain the war against banditry and cattle rustling crimes in the area, further assuring them of NPS support in the ongoing ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ in the six Counties gazetted as Dangerous and Disturbed

Koome was addressing the officers on Thursday, at Lokori Police Station in Turkana County.

Since its launch this year, the police-led multi-agency ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ in the North Rift has recorded outstanding progress as normalcy is returning in the region, schools that had been closed due to vandalism, destruction or illegal occupation by bandits have either been reopened or are under reconstruction by KDF.

Also present was the Sub County Police Commander Mr. Solomon Kosgei, SSP, Commanders from DCI, GSU, and CIPU as well as the Assistant County Commissioner Lokori Division, Mr Abbey Yakub.
